Error, please help

When I installed the script I got this error,

1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1

select customers_id from denied_categories where categories_id=

I have never had so many problems in my life, now I cannot login again to the site to get the codes!

How can the code be different than it was before, I feel like I must be the stupidest webmaster on the net (which I am not!)
